Who is “La Chola”?
A Chola is the name given to indigenous women in the regions of Peru and Bolivia, recognized for their distinctive skirts and hats that carry deep cultural meaning.
In 2021, while traveling through Peru, I spent several days in the vibrant city of Cusco, where I met a young kombucha brewer whose passion for his craft immediately inspired me. He had named his brand “La Chola”, embracing this symbol of cultural heritage.
Together, we began shaping a new design for his brand — one that honors traditional Peruvian elements while reimagining them through a clean and modern lens.
The result is a visual identity that celebrates heritage and tradition while remaining clear, authentic, and modern: the silhouette of a Chola woman paired with minimalist typography, brought to life in labels that feel both rooted and contemporary.
