PHOBIA – Über Ekel, Angst und Furcht Editorial Design Book

Phobia explores anxiety disorders through graphic design and photography, focusing on fears that are directed—often disproportionately—at objects that are essentially harmless. These disorders are characterized by pronounced avoidance behaviors and intense physical reactions when confronted with the source of fear.

The project places particular emphasis on atypical, specific phobias related to structures, materials, or everyday objects.

The book consists of nine hand-bound individual booklets, brought together as a single compendium housed in a slipcase. Alongside one introductory booklet that addresses phobias in general, the remaining eight each focus on a specific phobia and the personal experience of an individual affected by it.
